Criminal Background Checks   

 

Criminal background checks for church staff and volunteers are now available through CCC/ME and our insurance carrier, Church Mutual Insurance. They are conducted by ChoicePoint the nation's leader in this field.

 Rev. Robin Honaker, minister of 2nd Congregational Church in Warren, will administer the program for our Council. Here is what is required:

  1. the local body needs to establish who the "go to" person is for the church
  2. that person (Minister, SS Super, Moderator, etc.) should be an officer of the church and one who can hold confidence
  3. the officer should call us for a form, copy the form, and give it to their individual(s) to fill out in total.  With any missing information, the investigation will not happen.
  4. the officer will send this/these form(s) to us with a $5.00 per person payment which will be given to the Council for reimbursement.  ($5 is the present cost, it may go up per year). This is just a general search, not in depth at all, but it is enough for our need.
  5. We will do the website input and when finished, call the officer with the information.  The files will be kept under lock and key.
  6. the designated church officer will take the information to the particular parties.
